Guests and Visitors to Disneyland Resort have been amazed and delighted with the new “World of Color,” attraction, and now the unique show has won its first prestigious award.
On Tuesday, the Themed Entertainment Association (TEA) announced that “World of Color” had captured this year’s THEA award for Outstanding Achievement – Nighttime Spectacular. In a ceremony held during the International Association of Amusement Parks and Attraction’s (IAAPA) annual conference, TEA described the display as “a visual and technical marvel.” In all, Disney has won 34 coveted Thea Awards over the span of 17 years that TEA has been recognizing excellence and achievement.
Also honored at the ceremony was Disney Imagineer, Kim Irvine, with The Buzz Price Award for a lifetime of distinguished achievements. Irvine joined the Imagineering Team in 1970, and currently serves as Art Director for Disneyland.
“World of Color,” which premiered at Disneyland Resort last June, is a stunning display that combines water, color, fire, light, music, and animation into a spectacular one-of-a-kind experience that the whole family will enjoy.
