Disneyland has the green light to use a solo cab company – at least for now.
The resort stated that they planned to work with Yellow Cab of Greater Orange County exclusively. Disney stated that there were reasons for the preference: the Yellow Cab fleet includes clean-burning vehicles. Officials also cited Yellow Cab’s record of good service as a reason to use the company exclusively.
Anaheim’s other two cab companies having cried foul over the move, claiming that the arrangement creates a monopoly. The judge who heard the case disagreed, however, and ruled that Disney could proceed in its plans to utilize Yellow Cab exclusively for guests of its two theme parks, Downtown Disney, and the resort’s three hotels.
Attorneys for the other cab companies plan to refile their cases, but have not determined a date for the action.
