This month is National Bullying Prevention Month and Disney/ABC Television Group (DATG) is working to promote way families can prevent bullying.
DATG has partnered with GLSEN, Pacer, and GLAAD to promote the anti-bullying campaign.
At the beginning of the month DATG kicked off the “Choose Kindness” campaign on Good Morning America. This campaign encourages kids and millennials to be the best version of themselves and includes public service announcements on ABC, ABC Family, Disney Channel, Disney XD, and Disney Junior.
October 16 marks GLAAD’s Spirit Day and to mark the occasion ABC Family and ABC talent will be “going purple” as a way to speak out against bullying. The cast of ABC Family’s Baby Daddy are turning their social media platforms purple.
Disney Channel and Disney XD stars are sharing their personal messages about how to be kind and make a difference. Special episodes of Austin & Ally and Girl Meets World will feature storylines with empowering and relevant stories for kids.
Families can also check out Disney’s Be Inspired website – Disney.com/BeInspired – to find information and tips on how to prevent and put an end to bullying.
