Deadline.com has announced that Disney plans to remake the 1984 film The Flamingo Kid.
In the film, a high school graduate takes a job at The Flamingo Club where the owner eventually ends up mentoring him. Throughout the film, he struggles with his own blue collar upbringing and finds himself drawn to the lifestyle of the rich and famous, but eventually realizes that life comes with a high price.
Disney’s re-make will be produced by Brett Ratner’s Rat Entertainment and Michael Phillips’ Lighthouse Productions. Nzingha Stewart will pen the script. We’ll keep you updated on the progress of this remake when more news becomes available.
