Pandora – The World of Avatar opens May 27 at Disney’s Animal Kingdom and we’re getting a preview of what’s on the menu at the new Satu’li Canteen.
This new “fast casual” restaurant’s backstory is that it was once the main mess hall for the Resources Development Administration (RDA) Base. It’s now owned and operated by the Alpha Centauri Expeditions (ACE) tour company.
The menu at Satu’li Canteen will feature customizable bowls with quinoa and vegetable salad, red and sweet potato hash, or other bases topped with chicken, roasted beef, sustainable fish, or chili-spiced tofu.
Other menu items include steamed “pods” (bao buns) with cheeseburger or vegetable curry. Kids can choose from grilled chicken or beef, fish, or tofu with greens or rice; a hot dog; cheese quesadilla; or a steamed pod.
Satu’li Canteen is also the first fast casual restaurant to offer the new Mobile Order, which is an option to order and pay for “meals on the go” with My Disney Experience. Guests can bypass the queue when they arrive at the restaurant, order on the app, select the “I’m here” button the app when they arrive at the location, and pick up their meal at a designated window.
Other fast casual and quick service restaurants around Disney World will soon be using the Mobile Order.
The Satu’li Canteen will accept the Disney Dining Plan, but Mobile Order will only accept credit cards.
