On September 14, 2010 the Orange, Osceola and Polk County supervisors of elections will be working with Disney to host voter registration drives for cast members at several location across the Walt Disney World Resort. Just in time for the 2010 elections, the upcoming event is part of Disney’s continual “Make Freedom Count” campaign which educates and encourages Disney cast members to make their voice heard. “Make Freedom Count” even provides a link on the internal cast member website where CMs can register to vote with the click of a mouse.
“We encourage Cast Members to exercise their right to vote by taking the first step in the political process and registering,” said Jacob DiPietre, director of government relations for Walt Disney World Resort. “That’s why we work closely with our local supervisors of elections to make it easy for our Cast Members across Walt Disney World Resort to register to vote or update their registration so their voices are heard on Election Day.” (-WDW Public Affairs)
Disney reports that previous voter registration drives were held across property at their resort hotels, the Disney Reservation Centers, the Team Disney building, and even backstage at the Magic Kingdom and Disney’s Animal Kingdom. Accommodations for overnight workers to register were made, setting up tables as early as 6 a.m.
