Disney Cruise Line has placed an employee on administrative leave while they investigate claims that an iPhone was stolen from a passenger earlier this year.
A woman claims her phone was stolen while she was a passenger on board the Disney Wonder in April. She says she was able to track down the thief because all of the photos that were taken with the stolen phone were uploaded to Apple’s Photo Stream. The guest put several of those photos into a Facebook album titled “Stolen iPhone Adventures” and forwarded them to Disney officials.
Manager of public affairs for Disney Cruise Line Rebecca Peddie says they are aware of the photos and the alleged theft and have recovered the phone, which will be returned to the guest once the current cruise ends. The employee accused of the theft is restricted from guest areas while on administrative leave. A spokesperson for the cruise line says the matter is being investigated thoroughly and that they have a “zero-tolerance policy for this type of behavior.”
