The Wall Street Journal is reporting today that both Disney and Fox are considering pulling their content from online video provider Hulu, due to conflict over the service’s business model.
While the site was designed to enable its sponsors to combat pirated versions of TV shows on the internet, it now appears that the plan has backfired – and that the site is actually siphoning viewers away from backers, like Fox and NBC.
As a result, NBC, News Corp (owner of Fox), and Walt Disney are “increasingly at odds,” with Hulu, and Disney and Fox are both considering pulling their content and selling programs to Hulu competition, which may include Netflix, Microsoft, and Apple.
