Disney Channel Worldwide has promoted Richard Loomis to the new position of senior vice president and chief marketing officer. In his new role, Loomis will be responsible for the creative marketing vision for Disney Channel, Disney XD and Disney Junior. He will also help oversee the creative marketing support for media sales and marketing.
Prior to the appointment to his new role, Loomis was the senior vice president of marketing and creative.
Says Disney Channels Worldwide chief creative officer Gary Marsh:
Richard has played a pivotal role in branding the creative expressions of Disney Channel, Disney XD, and Disney Junior across the globe. Along the way, he has built a matrix of successful partnerships. This is a well-earned acknowledgement of not only the contributions he’s made to our TV and radio platforms, but the expanding responsibilities he’s now taking on.
Loomis’s previous experience before joining Disney in 2007 included a six year stint at Comedy Central. Prior to that, he worked for seven years at Nickelodeon.
