Fans of the hit Disney Channel shows Austin & Ally and Jessie received some good news last week, as Disney announced that both shows have been officially renewed for a third season.
Both Jessie and Austin & Ally debuted in 2011, and have since gone on to become some of television’s most popular shows among kids and tweens, with Austin & Ally currently ranked as TV’s #1 show with Kids 2-11, Kids 6-11, and Tweens 9-14. Production on both of the shows’ third seasons will begin in Los Angeles in July, and the new seasons will debut on Disney Channel in fall 2013.
About the renewal of Austin & Ally, Adam Bonnet, Senior Vice President of Original Programming for Disney Channels Worldwide, commented:
“‘Austin & Ally’ continues to hit high notes with kids and families, and the new season promises excitement for ‘Auslly’ fans as Austin’s music career kicks into full gear and Ally’s begins to take flight. This ensemble cast — Ross Lynch, Laura Marano, Raini Rodriguez and Calum Worthy — has incredible comedic chemistry and charm that continues to win audiences over.”
Bonnet also commented on Jessie’s recent renewal. He said in a statement:
“Season 3 of ‘Jessie’ will continue to spotlight the impressive comedic talents of Debby Ryan. Our viewers deeply connect with this cast of characters, and the upcoming season will focus on the Ross kids beginning to navigate young adulthood while challenging their favorite nanny with new and entertaining situations.”
