Disney Channel has announced that its freshman hit series Liv and Maddie will return for a second season this fall.
The show follows identical 16-year-old twins Liv and Maddie, with both roles being played by Dove Cameron. Liv is a Hollywood star who returns home to Wisconsin to attend high school with her basketball star sister Maddie.
“Liv and Maddie has quickly become a Disney Channel fan favorite and our viewers have connected with Dove Cameron in her dual role, as well as the rest of the Rooney family,” said Adam Bonnett, Executive Vice President, Original Programming, Disney Channel. “Season two will continue to make families laugh with relatable and engaging stories.”
Liv and Maddie also stars Joey Bragg, Tenzing Norgay Trainor, Kali Rocha, and Benjamin King. The show was created by and is executive produced by John Beck and Ron Hart (both of According to Jim).
Production on the second season is set to begin in March.
