Next month’s D23 Expo will open with a welcome from Disney Chairman and CEO Bob Iger, and following the grand opening is the first of two arena presentations that are sure to feature some surprises for Disney fans.
The first presentation on August 9 is Art and Imagination: Animation at The Walt Disney Studios and is scheduled for 10 a.m. During this event, Disney and Pixar Chief Creative Officer John Lasseter will be joined onstage by filmmakers and talent.
Lasseter and the other guests will be discussing The Walt Disney Studios’ upcoming slate of animated features including Walt Disney Animation Studios’ Frozen and Pixar Animation Studios’ The Good Dinosaur.
Attendees at this presentation will also have a chance to see the U.S. debut of the Mickey Mouse short Get A Horse!.
On Saturday, August 10, the second presentation – Let the Adventures Begin: Live Action at The Walt Disney Studios – is scheduled for 10:30 a.m. During this presentation, The Walt Disney Studios Chairman Alan Horn will showcase the Studios’ live-action release slate including Disney’s Saving Mr. Banks and Tomorrowland, Marvel’s Thor: The Dark World, and more.
Both of these presentations will take place in the convention center’s 4,000 seat arena. There will also be a 2,000 seat overflow theater where guests can watch the presentations on a live feed. All cell phones, cameras, and recording devices will be checked for the presentations.
