Recently more than 500 Walt Disney World cast members laced up their walking shoes and walked three miles in support of the American Heart Association’s Greater Orlando Heart Walk.
The Heart Walk has been the association’s signature fundraising event for the past 19 years. The goal of the walk is to promote physical activity and heart-healthy living in a fun environment.
As part of the ongoing support for the American Heart Association, the cast members also raised $35,829 for research and education to help fight heart disease and stroke.
Some cast members said they participate in the walk for personal health reasons, while others walk for those who have heart disease.
Walt Disney World cast members have supported the American Heart Association’s Heart Walk – through contributions and participation – since 2007. And, the Walt Disney World Resorts ranks in the top five Central Florida businesses that contribute to the cause.
