Walt Disney Cast Members will be able to provide more than 4,000 meals to Second Harvest Food Bank, a United Way organization, thanks to a recent food drive hosted by the FAMILIES Diversity Research Group (DRG.)
In partnership with Walt Disney World Community Relations, cast members collected more than 6,000 pounds of non-perishable food. DRG set up 40 drop off locations for the donated food, and were able to fill 10 pallets with the collected donations.
This is only the latest endeavor on the part of Disney to help out Second Harvest Food Bank, though. Last year, the Food Bank received a generous $500,000 donation to help them reach their goals of building a larger facility as well as a $30,000 donation in December to help their Kids Cafe program serve meals to local children in need.
