The Walt Disney Co. and Cablevision Systems Corp. have finally reached a multi-year deal that will give Cablevision’s T.V. subscribers access to Disney’s EPSN on mobile devices. Additionally, Disney will now have a distributor for a 24/7 news channel aimed at Hispanic audiences.
The agreement comes on the heels of a dispute between the two corporations two years ago, when Cablevision subscribers lost 15 minutes of ABC’s Oscars ceremony because of a blackout due to a fight over fees. Now that the dispute is behind them, the companies were able to reach an agreement.
With the new agreement, 70 channels and services are included in the contract between Disney and Cablevision. Financial terms of the agreement were not disclosed.
