In the wake of the fatal alligator attack earlier this summer at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort and Spa, Disney is now building a boulder wall around the shore of the Seven Seas Lagoon.
Two-year old Lane Graves was killed by an alligator as he waded on the shores of the man-made lagoon in June.
Immediately following the attack Disney erected rope fences and alligator warning signs around the Seven Seas Lagoon, Bay Lake, and other bodies of water around the resort.
Disney has been working on the boulder walls for the last five weeks around the shores of Seven Seas Lagoon to provide an additional barrier between guests and the water.
There is no word yet on whether additional walls will be erected around other bodies of water at other Disney World hotels. ‘No Fishing’ signs and other warnings are already in place.
