Pixar Pier, a re-imagining of Paradise Pier at Disney California Adventure, is set to open in the summer of 2018 with four neighborhoods representing Pixar films.
The neighborhood themed after The Incredibles will include the Incredicoaster – formerly California Screamin’ – which will feature “mid-century-modern-style loading area, new character moments, and a new look for the ride vehicles” according to Disney.
California Screamin’ will close January 8.
Toy Story Mania will anchor the Toy Story neighborhood, and an Inside Out-themed neighborhood will open later in 2018 with a new attraction.
The fourth neighborhood will be inspired by several Pixar films and will feature an updated Mickey’s Fun Wheel with redesigned ride gondolas and midway games inspired by Pixar characters. Mickey’s Fun Wheel, Games of the Boardwalk, and Sideshow Shirts will all close on January 8.
Additionally, Ariel’s Grotto and the Cove Bar will be transformed into a new lounge and grill and both locations will close on January 8. Cove Bar will reopen for a brief period of time in April before closing again.
The remaining area that includes Paradise Gardens, Silly Symphony Swings, Jumpin’ Jellyfish, Goofy’s Sky School, Golden Zephyr and The Little Mermaid ~ Ariel’s Undersea Adventure will become a new land called Paradise Park.
Pixar Pier will open during the Pixar Fest (which starts April 13).
