Disney and web-based location service Gowalla announced this week that they would be teaming up to offer you more magic during your stay in the parks – via your smartphone.
Gowalla has created fun, new digital Passport Stamps, available at hundreds of locations around Disneyland Resort and Walt Disney World Resort. The collection, the largest ever created for a single brand, offers guests a unique way to explore and experience attractions. The stamps can be collected in a virtual scrapbook for a fun, digital keepsake of your trip – and a way to add an element of adventure to future trips, because there will be more to come.
Using your custom Disney passport will also provide you with a check-in stream, which will update guests with what’s currently happening in and around the parks. One cool feature of the check-in stream is the “trips” feature. “Trips” are a fun way to bundle attractions according to the age or interests of your group. For instance, there is the “For the Little Ones” trip, which offers attractions ideally suited for guests who are under 44 inches tall. Suggestions in this instance include Peter Pan’s Flight and Dumbo the Flying Elephant, for example.
The unique virtual stamps are works of art in themselves, and as more are introduced, Gowalla will also offer stamps for special events that guests can add to their scrapbooks to further customize and enhance them with their own special memories.
To use the feature, guests should go to Gowalla.com/WaltDisneyWorld, Gowalla.com/Disneyland, or Gowalla.com/DisneyParks. Guests can join Gowalla via the web or download the free application to their smartphones to get started.
