Fans of Disney star Demi Lovato will undoubtedly love her even more now that she has released a video message crediting her fans for helping her through “the darkest time of her life.”
This is the first public address the 18 year old singer/actress has released since her three months in rehab after allegedly punching a backup dancer while she was on tour with The Jonas Brothers in South America last October.
Lovato checked into rehab seeking help for “emotional and physical issues,” and says in her video that “the journey [she] has been on has been very, very difficult… I was dealing with issues that I know not only girls my age, but of all ages, are dealing with.”
She continues by saying that she “hopes to one day raise awareness of everything [sic], so I can help people too, just like you guys helped me.”
The “you guys” she references in her video are her fans, who she says she can’t say “how much light you guys brought into my life in probably the darkest time of my life. Without you guys, I wouldn’t be here today.”
Fans should also be happy to note that Lovato is “excited to get back to acting,” but there’s no word yet on whether she will return to her Disney TV show, Sonny Without A Chance.
Disney released a statement in January, saying that “Demi’s management will inform us when she is able to return to work.”
