In an effort to give back during the holiday season, Demi Lovato returned to Timberline Knolls in Illinois, the treatment center she entered last year to resolve her issues with an eating disorder and self-harm. By sharing her story with current patients, she hopes to help other women struggling with their own issues realize that they are not alone.
On Sunday, Lovato shared a series of tweets about her visit to her former treatment facility, saying “what an inspiring day… many tears were shed and many memories were brought back.”
Lovato also posted another inspiring message:
Today I went back to the treatment center I went to last year, to speak to the beautiful women fighting their inner demons… was so honored… To be able to share my story and let them know that it gets easier. Life is beautiful…. You are worthy of it.
Afterwards, she urged her fans to say a prayer for anyone struggling with emotional issues, eating disorders, self-harm and substance abuse problems.
