For the very first time, a real cranberry bog has been installed at Walt Disney World for the Epcot International Food & Wine Festival. The bog was placed in the area connecting Future World and World Showcase, and is presented in conjunction with Ocean Spray. Ocean Spray has been taking their displays on the road since 2005 with their “Bogs Across America” tour.
According to Ken Romanzi, Ocean Spray’s chief operating officer in North America, the idea behind the bog was to “share nature’s most beautiful harvest.” Ordinarily, cranberry bogs will only look a certain way for one or two days, but a touch of Disney magic means the cranberry bog will be a gorgeous, rich red and filled with real berries for the duration of the festival, which runs through November 13.
To help celebrate Epcot’s temporary cranberry bog, celebrity chef Ming Tsai held cooking demonstrations yesterday at Epcot, creating a variety of cranberry dishes.
