Two construction milestones were recently celebrated at the Shanghai Disney Resort, including the topping out of the first Disney-themed hotel on property.
The last concrete was poured onto the roof section of the first of two Disney-themed hotels at Shanghai Disney. The hotel includes 800 rooms and will give guests views of Shanghai Disneyland in addition to the retail, dining, and entertainment district.
In addition to the hotel, the vertical construction on Shanghai Disneyland’s “mountain” was started, marking another construction milestone. The mountain is part of an attraction at the resort’s Magic Kingdom-style park and it will be the second highest structure after the Enchanted Storybook Castle.
Shanghai Disney Resort is scheduled to open at the end of 2015 and will include Shanghai Disneyland, two themed hotels, a 46,000 square meter retail, dining, and entertainment district, a lake, and parking and transportation hubs.
