When you visit the Epcot Flower and Garden Festival this spring, be sure to stop by the butterfly gardens to help out with some “citizen-science” research.
Disney’s Animals, Science, and Environment cast members will be in the butterfly garden area and they need help from guests to determine which new plant species the native butterflies like best.
The Disney Horticulture team members planted two native plants – blanket flowers and chapman’s cassia – and guests of all ages are invited to participate in the activity.
Over at Disney’s Vero Beach Resort more than 330 Atala butterflies have been released and they’ve established a new population in the Vero Beach Area.
Guests at the Flower and Garden Festival can also check out presentations by Disney’s Animal, Science, and Environment cast members on March 31 through April 2 at 11 a.m. and 2 p.m.
