For the past 50 years, high school seniors have flocked to Disneyland to celebrate their graduations at “Grad Nites,” special nights that have been set aside for these graduates to enjoy the park to themselves. Now, Disney has announced some new changes coming to this Disneyland tradition. Unlike Walt Disney World, whose Grad Nites were recently discontinued, the Disneyland Grad Nites will continue, but with a few new twists.
In 2012, graduates attending Grad Nite will have more flexibility than ever, as they will receive a park hopper ticket, giving them the chance to enter both Disneyland Park and Disney California Adventure Park at any time during their Grad Nite visit. The park hopper ticket will give the graduates a full day to spend at the two parks however they choose. 2012 graduates will also receive a special Fastpass option to use during the Grad Nite, as well as their own special viewing of “Fantasmic!” to kick off their private evening at the parks.
In 2013, the Grad Nite festivities will move from Disneyland Park to Disney California Adventure Park. With all of the exciting new experiences and renovations coming to Disney California Adventure, graduates will have many attractions and experiences there to enjoy, including their own World of Color viewing and the brand-new “Cars Land.”
