A particular piece of Disney news met with shock, dismay, and not a little disappointment today: Disney announced that it will not be hosting the popular California Food and Wine Festival for 2011 or 2012.
The event, which has been staged at Disney California Adventure Park for the last five consecutive years, is a casualty of the park’s massive two-year expansion project.
The festival has grown steadily in popularity with guests and the culinary and wine worlds alike, and had begun to draw many notable celebrities in the food industry. And, while Disney was unclear about the future of the event, the prevailing hope is that the cancellation is temporary, and the festival will return to the bigger, better, shinier California Adventure Park in 2013.
