After renovating the entrance to Disney’s California Adventure, the iconic “California” letters will be getting a new home. Disney donated the over 11-feet tall letters to Friends of the California State Fair, a non-profit organization that benefits Cal Expo.
Disney decided to donate the letters when they realized they didn’t have the same theme as their refurbished entrance, which was designed to look like the version of Los Angeles Walt Disney saw when he first arrived in California in the 1920’s.
Says Disneyland Resort President George A. Kalogridis:
The letters were very popular with millions of guests over the past decade, and Cal Expo is a fitting destination to continue their legacy.
The letters are expected to be in their new home sometime in September.
