B.J. Novak, best known for his role on The Office, will be joining an already stellar cast for Disney’s upcoming film Saving Mr. Banks. Based on the making of Mary Poppins, Novak will play Robert Sherman, who wrote such hit songs as “Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious” and “Chim-Chim-Cheer-ee” along with his brother Richard.
The film also stars Tom Hanks as Walt Disney; Emma Thompson as P.L. Travers; Colin Farrel, Paul Giamatti, Jason Schwartzman and Ruth Wilson. John Lee Hancock will direct.
Saving Mr. Banks is slated to begin shooting in September.
