Disney’s Art of Animation Resort will be welcoming the final phase of resort construction when “The Little Mermaid” wing opens September 15, 2012.
In the courtyard that overlooks the wing and the Flippin’ Fins pool, a gigantic statue of Ariel – surrounded by Flounder and friends – provides unique photo opportunities and is truly the highlight of the new wing.
Also overlooking “The Little Mermaid” courtyard stands a larger-than-life statue of Ursula, Ariel’s nemesis in the popular Disney film.
Within the hotel rooms, guests will be treated to a variety of Ariel-themed features including shower curtains depicting the mermaid herself. A beautifully decorated mirror adorns the bathroom wall, highlighted with clamshell light fixtures. The bedspreads are decorated with an “Under the Sea” motif while the rest of the room is brightly colored and designed to resemble an underwater paradise.
“The Little Mermaid” wing at Art of Animation Resort will add an additional 864 standard hotel rooms to the resort, and is the last wing to be added.
