Yesterday, Activision Publishing and Disney Interactive announced a collaboration to create a Wreck-It Ralph video game. The video game will be created as a classic arcade-style stroller featuring Ralph and is meant to be a story extension to the upcoming Disney film of the same name.
Says David Oxford, Executive Vice President, Activision Publishing:
Wreck-It Ralph, as a brand entity, is perfectly suited for video game stardom. With the fantastic characters and creative atmosphere envisioned by Walt Disney Animation Studios, we know fans are going to love seeing their newfound favorite characters embark on an all-new side scrolling adventure.
The video game will pick up where the film leaves off, with Ralph and Fix-It Felix defending their city against a horde of Cy-Bugs. Players will have to switch between both characters in order to defeat the different levels, using Ralph’s pure destructive strength to destroy the bugs and Felix to repair the damage caused.
The video game will be released on the Wii platform, Nintendo 3DS and Nintendo DS. For more information, please visit activision.com. You can catch Wreck-It Ralph, the film, in theaters November 2, 2012.
