The Pop Up Santa holiday initiative has been happening since November 11, and recently ABC Family claimed “ownership” of the Pop Up Santa events during a segment on ABC’s Good Morning America.
The network surprised the morning program’s Times Square audience with Pop Up Santa gifts to celebrate the ’25 Days of Christmas’ programming event on ABC Family.
The Pop Up Santa initiative includes more than 50 local giveaways where unsuspecting people are giving gift cards, cold weather gear, and even new bikes.
ABC Family says local Pop Up Santa events will continue through December 9 in select cities around the country. Fans are being encouraged to start their own Pop Up Santa events in their communities and share the surprises via the new Pop Up Santa experience – PopUpSanta.tv.
As part of the holiday initiative ABC Family has also teamed with Verizon, KFC, Pillsbury, and Capital One for sponsorship and special events that will take place during the 25 Days of Christmas.
