Set to hit Macy’s department stores later this month a new fashion collection by Charlotte Tarantola for Disney will bring fanciful, whimsical, and colorful “Alice in Wonderland” inspired fashion to trendsetters nationwide.
“The arresting settings and characters in Tim Burton’s interpretation of “Alice In Wonderland” provided great inspiration and have made it possible for us to work with a group of renowned designers to create a truly unique collection of lifestyle products that will continue to position Disney at the forefront of fashion trends,” said Pam Lifford, executive vice president, global fashion and home, DCP. “Our collaboration with Charlotte Tarantola brings it all together in a way that is fun and interesting for consumers and Disney fans alike.”
Just in time for the DVD and Blu-Ray release of Tim Burton’s Alice in Wonderland, scheduled in the U.S. for June 1, 2010, Tarantola’s collection will mimic the allure, mystery, & surrealistic elements of Alice’s journey brought onto clothing for the 21st Century. Using ruffles & lace, prints, sparkles, characters from the movie, and symbolic items like fanciful keys and pocket watches Tarantola is sure to bring her unique sense of artistry and subtlety into the collection.
Charlotte Tarantola has successfully presented Disney inspired collections in the past, including her 2009 “Snow White” collection which featured cardigans, embellished tees, & ruffled skirts (see photo above).
The Charlotte Tarantola for Disney “Alice in Wonderland” pieces will be available nationwide in specialty stores and fine department stores including Macy’s, as well as at www.charlottetarantola.com.
