In an effort to cater to the “adults only” crowd, Disney is introducing not one, but two, restaurants that will cater exclusively to adults on its newest cruise ship, the Disney Dream. And last week, the Disney Food Blog gave us a sneak peek of its latest culinary creation, Remy, which promises to take Disney dining on the high seas to an entirely new level.
Throughout the restaurant, which is decorated in the art nouveau style, guests will find subtle touches that serve as an homage to the little character for whom the space is named – the pint-sized star of the Oscar-award winning Disney-Pixar film “Ratatouille,” which is set in the fine dining scene and gastronomic capital of the world – Paris.
Remy will feature a gourmet, French-inspired menu. The menu, developed jointly by Chef Scott Hunnel of Disney’s AAA Five-Diamond Award-winning Victoria & Albert’s, and Chef Arnaud Lallement of the two Michelin-star restaurant l’Assiette Champenoise near Reims in France, promises the same attention to detail that is the standard at Hunnel’s restaurant.
The chefs bring a deft touch to the refined menu. Guests will enjoy up to nine courses, paired with wines, with delicious and varied offerings, such as Muscovy duck with rhubarb, and citrus turbot.
The 80-seat restaurant will require advanced reservations, which can be made once guests are onboard, or online at Disney Cruise Line’s website. Guests will dine at Remy in lieu of their regular evening meal.
