What truly makes a princess a princess? Why, it’s the beautiful clothes, the sparkling tiara –- and the stylish handbag, of course!
The marketing brains at Disney have figured out that Disney princesses of yore are now grown-up Disney princesses, and they want their Disney gear too!
So that explains why we’ve seen such an array of Disney-branded clothing, accessories, and even cosmetics rolling onto sales floors and websites – but with a grown-up, designer twist!
Earlier this year, the new TrenD store opened at Downtown Disney in Disney World, bringing you the newest, most stylish Disney line of clothing and handbags. The store also sells exclusive merchandise from designers.
One of the biggest hits so far has been Disney’s collaboration with Dooney and Bourke handbags, available at Disney Park stores and disneystore.com. The colorful, whimsical designs have been a big hit with teens and adults alike. Click here to see Disney Dooneys at disneystore.com.
Sold out in a flash was a small line of Isabelle Fiore handbags and wallets released in September. This Minnie Mouse wallet is listed as sold out at disneystore.com – maybe they’ll stock more of these bags and wallets soon. And So Cal staple Harvey’s Seatbelt Bags has gotten in on the handbag game too, with a line of Disney-inspired bags called the Minnie Mouse collection.
And it’s not just about handbags … or princesses, for that matter! On Sept. 30, Disney and MAC Cosmetics teamed up to launch the Venomous Villains collection, based on Disney villains Cruella de Vil, Snow White’s Evil Queen, Maleficent, and Dr. Facilier. Why not treat yourself this Halloween?
And if you’re a 2011 bride who wants to feel like a princess on your wedding day, then look no further than Alfred Angelo. Disney and Alfred Angelo have teamed up to launch a line of Disney princess-inspired dresses, much like the Kirstie Kelly line, but at a lower price point of $599-$1,199.
