The Flying Fish Café at Disney’s BoardWalk is set to reopen this fall as the Flying Fish with a new design and an updated menu.
Chef Tim Majoras will lead the kitchen at Flying Fish and sustainable fish will be headlining the new menu.
When Flying Fish reopens new menu items will include a Fruits of the Sea appetizer featuring rock shrimp and clams from Florida, grouper cheek, and mussels.
The kitchen and dining room are getting a facelift too during the refurbishment. When it reopens, Flying Fish will have an all-new kitchen and dining room with “sparkling architecture accents” including golden-winged room panels and a chandelier that looks like a school of flying fish.
Next door to Flying Fish a new cocktail lounge, the AbracadaBar Lounge will also open this fall. The “curious cocktail lounge” will combine the Golden Age of Magic with Disney storytelling.
The backstory for the lounge is that it was “once a secret stomping ground for famous touring magicians” and after each show they would gather at the bar and “conjure up new cocktails” while swapping tips and tricks of the trade.
And “according to BoardWalk lore, it was on just such an evening that every single magician in the lounge vanished into thin air, never seen again… And after sitting vacant for nearly 70 years, the secret magician’s lounge is now back in the spotlight.”
The opening date and official menus for Flying Fish and AbracadaBar Lounge have not yet been announced.
