Disney’s Animal Kingdom is officially transforming to a nighttime destination on Memorial Day Weekend!
Guests will have a chance to experience Kilimanjaro Safaris After Dark once the park officially extends its hours at the end of May. Special lighting will allow guests to see the nighttime activities of animals on the savanna, including two new additions – African wild dogs and hyenas.
The Tree of Life will awaken each night with the help of magical fireflies that will “reveal colorful stories of wonder and enchantment.”
And throughout the summer, a new show inspired by the live-action The Jungle Book will entertain guests at the Discovery River. Jungle Book: Alive with Magic will feature music, special effect, and more celebrating the classic story.
Guests will also have a chance to enjoy the new Harambe Wildlife Parti and the Discovery Island Carnivale each night at the Animal Kingdom. These new experiences include music, stilt walkers, exotic foods, and more.
Also opening Memorial Day Weekend is Tiffins Signature Restaurant and the adjacent Nomads Lounge.
Most of the attractions at the Animal Kingdom will remain open during the nighttime hours.
And finally, the highly-anticipated Rivers of Light is not scheduled to open for a bit longer. It seems that the Jungle Book: Alive with Magic show is acting as a placeholder until the Rivers of Light is ready.
