The ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex at the Walt Disney World Resort will soon be home to a new state-of-the-art cheerleading and dance team competition venue.
The WWOS Complex is teaming up with Varsity Spirit to create the first venue in the world that is designed for cheerleading and dance team competitions.
The venue will feature a flexible design for one large space that can be set up for as many as four competition areas.
The venue will have seating for more than 8,000 guests in addition to performance space and warm-up space. In addition to cheer and dance competitions the venue can also host six regulation basketball courts, six volleyball courts, or even concerts.
The ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex currently hosts six cheer and dance team events each year and the new venue will add to that.
Construction on the venue is slated to begin this month with completion expected in mid-2017.
