For the third consecutive year Brazilian runner Fredison Costa has won the Walt Disney World Marathon.
Costa has won the marathon five times in the past six years. His finish time on Sunday was 2:33:24.
The champion runner has been living and training in Orlando for the last two years. He trains at the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex with US Olympic track coach Brooks Johnson.
Mateus Trindale placed second in the marathon with a time of 2:34:49 and Jeff Martinez placed third with a time of 2:36:00.
Natasha Yaremczuk was the first woman to cross the finish line at 2:52:23. Jennifer Walton was the second woman with 3:01:38, and Corina Canitz was third with 3:03:48.
More than 26,000 runners participated in the Walt Disney World Marathon on Sunday, January 10. More than 7,500 runners participated in the Dopey Challenge which includes the 5K, 10K, half marathon, and full marathon.
