Miles from Tomorrowland is one of Disney Junior’s top animated shows thanks to its engaging storytelling about space and technology.
And now Disney Junior has partnered with XPRIZE to launch ‘Miles from Tomorrowland: Space Missions,” an all-new program that is part of Disney/ABC Television Group’s ‘Summer of Creativity.’
The program, which kicked off on July 16 in at the New York City Hall of Science, encourages kids ages 2-8 to get involved in STEAM learning activities and make their own “out-of-this-world” creation with a chance to win prizes.
The kickoff event included a rocket building event and gave kids chance to meet an astronaut. There was also a planetary-themed mini golf course to teach kids about the laws of motion and gravity.
Kids participating in the Miles from Tomorrowland: Space Missions can submit their creations in three categories – technology, vehicles, and planets. The grand prize winner will be announced in September and will win a trip to Cape Canaveral, Florida to visit the Kennedy Space Center Visitors Complex.
Four runner-up winners will receive 3D printers from 3D Systems, and 100 second runner-ups will win Google Cardboard Viewers. For details and rules on the contest visit DisneyJunior.com/SpaceMissions.
