More changes are coming to Disney’s Hollywood Studios, this time in the form of yet another attraction set to close.
The Magic of Disney Animation, an original attraction that has been at the theme park since 1989, will close on July 12 to make way for a new experience.
Originally, when the park was Disney-MGM Studios guests could catch a peek of animators working. Now the attraction is home to several character meet-and-greets including Sorcerer Mickey, in addition to a short film about animation and art lessons for guests.
The closure of the Magic of Disney Animation follows the closures of the Studio Backlot Tour and the American Idol Experience.
Disney CEO Bob Iger has said that the park’s name will be changed but that new name has not been announced yet.
The gallery attached to the Magic of Disney Animation will remain open until August.
