The first new parking garage in Downtown Disney is scheduled to open on November 20.
The parking structure is part of the Disney Springs construction project and will eventually mean an additional 4,000 parking spots for the shopping and entertainment complex.
As Disney continues with the reimagining of Downtown Disney into Disney Springs, the construction project also includes a pedestrian bridge, an extended I-4 exit ramp that leads directly into one of the parking garages, and the widening of Buena Vista Drive. The road will also feature a dedicated bus lane.
While the new garage will have 4,000 parking spots, when it opens November 20 only levels one through four will be open with only 1,700 spots available. By the end of December nearly 3,000 spots will be open.
The garage was open on November 2 for “trial run” for cast members.
Disney recently announced two new restaurants for Disney Springs – Morimoto Asia and The BOATHOUSE. Both are scheduled to open in 2015.
