As we say good-bye today to Maelstrom in Epcot’s Norway Pavilion – the ride is closing for good to make way for a new Frozen attraction – we also have more Frozen news to report.
Let’s dig in to this week’s Disney news!
Walt Disney World Resort News
Yes Maelstrom is gone for good and in its place will (eventually) be a Frozen-themed ride. Let’s hope when the new attraction opens in 2016 we can still go over the falls and land in the icy sea down below.
Speaking of Frozen, Anna and Elsa appear to be taking up a semi-permanent residence over at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. Not only is ‘For the First Time in Forever’ – the Frozen sing-along – sticking around at the Premiere Theater, but Wandering Oaken’s Trading Post has been moved to a new location near the Streets of America.
And now we have word that an all-new Frozen Premium Package is available at the Studios starting in November. This package includes reserved seating for the sing-along, a reserved viewing area for the Osborne Family Spectacle of Dancing Lights, and a dessert party.
The winter holiday season at Walt Disney World gets underway in early November – as soon as the pumpkins come down the Christmas wreaths go up! And what would a Florida winter be without more Frozen fun? This year Queen Elsa will be lighting up Cinderella Castle each night and her friends from Arendelle will be part of Mickey’s Once Upon a Christmastime Parade.
But before we head into winter we are still celebrating all things fall and Halloween at Walt Disney World, and this month there are a few special merchandise events that you’ll want to check out.
