Before the first seasons of Star Wars Rebels premiered on Disney XD the series was renewed for a second season.
The series from Lucasfilm was receiving praise from critics and fans since it debuted earlier this summer at San Diego Comic-Con.
“The global expectations for this series could not have been any higher,” said Gary Marsh, Disney Channels Worldwide President and Chief Executive Officer. “And I am proud to say that the team at Lucasfilm has delivered something that has surpassed even that incredibly high bar – artistically and thematically.”
The series was introduced October 3 with a television movie, Star Wars Rebels: Spark of Rebellion on Disney Channel. It will air on October 6 on Disney XD. The series premieres Monday, October 13 on Disney XD, and will air in 34 languages in 163 countries and 400 million households.
Star Wars Rebels is set in the era between the film’s prequel trilogy and the original trilogy, and features icons from those films while introducing new characters.
