Frozen is the number one animated movie of all time, and the film was recently honored by its own studio – The Walt Disney Studios.
Alan Horn, Chairman of The Walt Disney Studios led the celebration honoring the film’s success. Disney Chairman and CEO Bob Iger was also present at the event along with studio employees and the film’s directors and producer.
“Animation is the basic DNA of this company,” Horn said. “In the past couple of months, a phenomenon has occurred that we’re all aware of—and that phenomenon is Frozen. We’re all very proud of this movie because its success and quality are completely consistent with the values we share and care about at Disney.”
The celebration including the unveiling of a new marquee on the façade of the Studio’s landmark building featuring Elsa and Anna.
The film’s directors Jennifer Lee and Chris Buck were joined by producer Peter Del Vecho.
“Frozen could only have been made here,” Lee said. “The dream to make a modern Disney classic drove all of us. We’re so grateful that our colleagues throughout the Company took Frozen into all of their hearts, and the support, dedication and care they gave to the movie are unprecedented.”
The Studio’s façade is changed each year in honor of Disney’s contribution to feature animation.
