The ‘Tsum Tsum’ toys have arrived.
Disney recently introduced more than 30 of the stackable plush toys at Disney Stores nationwide and at Disney Parks.
The Tsum Tsums hail from Japan and the Disney line features various sizes of stackable plush toys including Mickey Mouse, Winnie the Pooh, Minnie Mouse, and Buzz Lightyear.
In addition to the stackable plush toys Disney has also launched the LINE: Disney Tsum Tsum puzzle app.
The app is available for iOS and Android platforms and in the game players try to pop as many of the Disney Tsum characters as they can in one minute. The more Tsums eliminated the higher the player’s score goes.
In the past nine months in Japan the Tsum Tsum app has been downloaded 14 million times and more than 1.6 million plush toys have been sold. This toy-app combination release of a distinctly Japanese product is a rarity for Disney.
In a statement, Paul Candland, president of The Walt Disney Company (Japan) said, “Disney Tsum Tsum is both a physical product and a digital game, allowing our guests to enjoy a multi-dimensional experience. We are hopeful that the Disney Tsum Tsum franchise will be loved and enjoyed by our guests around the world.”
The plush toys range in price from $4.95 to $24.95.
