The Festival of the Lion King is returning to Disney’s Animal Kingdom this summer.
The popular live show went on hiatus in January of this year as the construction for the Avatar-inspired land started at the Animal Kingdom.
While no official date has been announced, the show should return to the Animal Kingdom in June. Daily performance will take place in the newly-built Harambe Theater which is located in the Africa section of the park.
As the biggest expansion in park history continues, there is also word of a new nighttime spectacular planned for the Animal Kingdom.
The Rivers of Light nighttime show will feature live music, floating lanterns, water screens, and swirling animal imagery. The show will be presented on the Discovery River between Discovery Island and Expedition Everest.
No official announcement has been made on a start date for Rivers of Light.
