To celebrate the release of the new film Million Dollar Arm, Disney is hosting The Million Dollar Arm Pitching Contest.
Amateur baseball pitchers are invited to qualify in the preliminary round of the Million Dollar Arm Pitching Contest at the Walt Disney World Resort, Disneyland, or the Tribeca/ESPN Sports Day at the Tribeca Family Festival in New York City. Contestants can be male or female, and must be at least 18 years old and residents of the United States.
The top three contestants from each tryout location – those who throw the fastest pitches – advance to the finals where they will have a chance to compete for a $1 million prize at the premiere of Million Dollar Arm in Hollywood.
The qualifying events are presented by SUBWAY restaurants and take place April 25 and 26 from 7 a.m. until 6 p.m. in the Downtown Disney District at Disneyland, and the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex in Walt Disney World. The Tribeca/ESPN Sports Day is on April 26 only from 10 a.m. until 6 p.m.
At the qualifying events contestants will throw three pitches which will be tracked by radar guns. All participants will receive a ticket for themselves and a guest to see an advance screening of Million Dollar Arm.
The top three pitchers with the fastest pitch at each event will be flown with his or her guest to the final contest in Hollywood on May 6. Each finalist will throw three pitches on Hollywood Boulevard, and any finalist who throws one 100 mph strike out of three pitches will become a potential $1 million winner.

The nine finalists and their guests will be VIPs at the film’s premiere along with the film’s stars, Major League Baseball players, coaches, and more.
Million Dollar Arm, starring Jon Hamm (Mad Men), tells the true story of agent JB Bernstein’s plan to find a new major league pitcher through a reality show he wants to produce in India called “Million Dollar Arm.” JB discovers two 18-year-old boys who have no idea about playing baseball but can throw a fastball. He brings them to America to learn about baseball while JB learns a lesson in teamwork, commitment, and family.
The film arrives in theaters on May 16.
