Disney’s animated blockbuster Frozen was named Best Animated Feature at this month’s 41st Annual Annie Awards.
The Annie Awards are considered a good predictor for which film will win the Academy Award for Best Animated Feature.
The awards honor excellence and individual achievement in 30 categories related to animated film including best feature, production, design, character animation, effects animation, writing, music, storyboarding, editing, and voice acting.
In all, Disney and Pixar took home 16 awards at the Annie Awards including Outstanding Achievement, Directing in an Animated Feature Production (Frozen); Outstanding Achievement, Music in an Animated Feature Production (Frozen), Outstanding Achievement, Voice Acting in an Animated Feature Production (Josh Gad as Olaf in Frozen); Best Animated Short Subject (Get A Horse!); and Outstanding Achievement, Storyboarding in an Animated Feature Production (Monsters University, Pixar Studios).
Disney Legend Alice Davis was honored with the June Foray award for her significant contributions to the art and industry of animation.
