Two new half-hour comedies have received the green light from ABC Family and will make their debut later this year.

Mystery Girls stars former Beverly Hills 90201 co-stars Tori Spelling and Jennie Garth as two former detective TV show starlets who are brought back together by a real life mystery. The duo must reunite and put their TV crime-solving skills to good use when a fan of their show will only talk to them after witnessing a crime.
Spelling and Garth will also serve as executive producers on the show.
The other new series, Young & Hungry, stars Emily Osment (Hannah Montana) as a food blogger who is looking to be the personal chef for a wealthy young entrepreneur played by Jonathon Sadowski. The series is executive produced by Ashley Tisdale (High School Musical), Jessica Rhoades, and Eric Tannenbaum.
Gabi Moskowitz, a San Francisco based food blogger contributed to the development of the series.
“We are excited to expand our comedy brand with two new series that build on our already solid comedy block of hits, Melissa & Joey and Baby Daddy,” said Kate Juergens, Chief Creative Officer and Executive Vice President of Programming and Development, ABC Family. “Viewers are excited to see Tori Spelling and Jennie Garth back on television together again, and will fall in love with Young & Hungry star Emily Osment in these comedies that bring us fun, new characters with which to laugh out loud.”
Both new shows will begin production in Los Angeles this year and are set to premiere on ABC Family later in 2014.
