The Los Angeles Times is reporting that the battle between Disney and Cablevision , is getting more intense as the Saturday midnight deadline closes in. Cablevision is claiming that Disney is asking for $40 million per year to retransmit the local station’s signal, however Disney has denied that is the price it is asking.
Rebecca Campbell, president of WABC-TV New York is claiming, “…that ABC7 has been prepared to reach a fair agreement for two years and Cablevision has refused to do its part.” Other personalities such as Regis and Kelly, and Barbara Walters have commented on the issue on their respective television shows over the previous week.
Cablevision has been providing the WABC station over the last two years without any kind of solid deal.
