Downtown Disney will soon be transformed into a showcase of art, photography, sculpture, and more at the 38th annual Festival of the Masters presented by Michaels.
The open-air festival features more than 300 artists who will be showcasing their works in photography, painting, sculpture, chalk, and glass. The exhibits include more than 130 award-winning artists and 20 up-and-coming Emerging Masters, the Disney Artist Village, and live performance artists.
The Disney Artist Village returns to the festival with one of the biggest displays of Disney art for purchase, and will include meet and greets with more than 25 artists.
The village will be located between Cirque du Soleil and House of Blues on Downtown Disney West Side. The Disney Artist Village tent will feature creations from artists including Walt Disney Imagineering and Disney’s Yellow Shoes Creative Group. The Disney artists will also be performing live shows and will host interactive chats on the Waterside Stage.
New to the festival this year is the ‘Mixers and Masters’ event highlighting artistic cocktails from some select Downtown Disney dining locations. Some of the beverages include the Blue Nile from the Rainforest Café, Huckleberry Lemonade from Splitsville, and the Pinkberry Martini from Wolfgang Puck Café.
The festival also features activities presented by Michaels including “Make It Take It” crafts, coloring Disney-inspired art, and the “Michaels Master Mural” where festival guests can help create a mosaic-like mural. Children can create chalk drawings in sections of the Marketplace for the Children’s Chalk Art display and they can help build a giant LEGO masterpiece.
Other festival activities include live entertainment by the performers from La Nouba by Cirque du Soleil and other live entertainment at House of Blues, Bongos Cuban Café, and Raglan Road. The House of Blues is also hosting the 15th anniversary of its Folk Art Festival.
Festival of the Masters takes place Friday and Saturday, November 8 and 9 from 10 a.m. until 5:30 p.m., and on Sunday November 10 from 10 a.m. until 5 p.m. Admission and parking are complimentary at Downtown Disney.
